Anxiety therapy for the worry that takes up too much room
I work with people who feel stuck in worry, tension, or constant alertness. We can look at what keeps your mind and body on guard, and what that has been like in daily life.
What people bring me
People often come in feeling like their mind will not stop spinning. They may be tense all the time, overthinking every choice, or avoiding things that feel too hard to face. Some notice a racing heart, a tight chest, or the feeling that something bad could happen at any moment. It can interfere with sleep, work, school, parenting, and the ability to relax even when nothing is immediately wrong.
- I can't turn my brain off.
- I keep bracing for something bad.
- I overthink every little decision.
- I feel tense even when nothing is happening.
I pay attention to the worry underneath the worry.
How I work with it
I listen for the patterns underneath worry, fear, and avoidance. We may pay attention to body cues, thoughts, family patterns, and the situations that keep anxiety going. For children and teens, I also consider how anxiety affects home, school, and relationships.
What the first sessions look like
The first sessions are about understanding what anxiety looks like for you and when it shows up most. We talk about what sets it off, what makes it worse, and what you have already tried.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation. I reply as soon as I can, usually within 1-2 business days.
Questions people ask
How do I stop overthinking everything?
That is a common reason people reach out, and we can explore what feeds the cycle. The work focuses on understanding the pattern rather than fighting with yourself over it.
Is this the same as therapy for trauma?
Sometimes anxiety is connected to trauma, and sometimes it is part of something else. We can look at your experience without forcing it into one explanation.
Can anxiety show up in kids as irritability?
Yes, it often does show up in ways that are easier to miss at first. I work with children by paying attention to what they do, what they say, and what caregivers notice at home.
Do I need to know why I'm anxious before I start?
No. We can begin with what you are noticing now and sort out the pieces together.
