Grief therapy for what loss changes
I work with people who are carrying loss and trying to keep going at the same time. We can make room for the parts that feel heavy, confusing, or hard to speak out loud.
What people bring me
People often come in after a death, a separation, or another loss that has changed the shape of their life. They may feel numb, tearful, angry, or surprised by how much everyday things have shifted. Some are trying to function while feeling like a piece of them is missing. Others are unsure what to do with feelings that come in waves or do not match what anyone around them expects.
- I don't feel like myself since the loss.
- I keep expecting them to walk back in the door.
- I can function, but everything feels different.
- I don't know where to put all of this.
Grief needs room to be messy, quiet, angry, and unfinished.
How I work with it
I listen for how grief is living in your life now, not only for what was lost. We talk about the daily impact, the feelings that show up, and the places where support might be needed. With children and teens, I may also include caregivers when that helps everyone understand what the loss has meant.
What the first sessions look like
The first sessions are about what was lost, what has changed, and what feels hardest to carry. You do not need to bring the right words or the whole story, just what feels most present for you.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation. I reply as soon as I can, usually within 1-2 business days.
Questions people ask
Is it normal to feel angry after a loss?
Yes, anger can be part of grief for many people. In therapy, we make room for the full range of what comes up without judging it.
Can you help if I'm not crying but still hurting?
Yes. Grief does not always look the way other people expect, and pain can show up in many forms.
What if my child is grieving differently than I am?
That is common, and it can be hard on a family. We can talk about what your child is showing and what support may help at home.
Do I have to talk only about the person I lost?
No. We can also talk about what life feels like now, what has changed, and what is hardest to carry day to day.
