Who I work with

Teens therapy for the pressure they carry

I work with teens who are trying to handle a lot at once and may not have words for all of it yet. We can make room for stress, sadness, worry, family conflict, and the pull between wanting help and wanting privacy.

What people bring me

Teens often come in feeling stuck between what they show on the outside and what is happening inside. They may be irritable, shut down, worried, or exhausted by school, friendships, family expectations, or changes in identity. Some feel like no one really gets what they are carrying. Others are not sure they even want therapy, but they know something is off and want help sorting it out.

  • I don't know how to say what's going on.
  • I'm tired of everyone getting on my case.
  • I feel fine one minute and awful the next.
  • I just want someone to actually listen.

How I work with it

I give teens room to speak for themselves while also keeping parents or caregivers in mind when that is part of the support they need. The work may focus on stress, emotions, relationships, identity, or what feels hardest at home or school. I pay attention to what the teen says, what they do not say, and how to help the conversation feel usable rather than overwhelming.

What the first sessions look like

The first sessions are about building trust, hearing what matters to the teen, and deciding together what should come first. I do not expect teens to arrive with a polished explanation or to share more than feels manageable.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation. I reply as soon as I can, usually within 1-2 business days.

I take teens seriously without making them perform for therapy.

Questions people ask

Can you help my teenager who won't open up?

Yes, that is a common reason families reach out. I work at a pace that respects the teen's comfort while still making room for honest conversation.

Do you work with parent support for teens?

Yes, parents are often part of the picture with teens. We can talk about what helps at home and how to support the teen without taking away their voice.

What if my teen says therapy is pointless?

That is not unusual, and we can start there. The first step is often just making the space feel usable enough for them to engage.

Can teens talk about school stress here?

Yes, school pressure is often part of what brings teens in. We can look at what the stress is doing and how it shows up in everyday life.
