Who I work with

Children therapy for growing minds and big feelings

I work with children who are having a hard time with worry, sadness, trauma, or emotions that feel bigger than they can handle. I also work with parents and caregivers so the support can make sense in daily life.

What people bring me

Children may come in acting out, shutting down, worrying a lot, or having trouble separating from parents. Some seem sensitive to everything around them, while others have a hard time naming what they feel. Parents may notice changes in sleep, school, play, or the way their child connects with others. Sometimes the whole family feels worn down by the same struggle and needs a clearer way to understand it.

  • My child is having a harder time than usual.
  • I don't know what my child is feeling.
  • We keep running into the same problem at home.
  • I think my child needs help, but I don't know how to talk about it.

How I work with it

I pay attention to play, behavior, language, and what the family is seeing day to day. With children, I often work in a way that helps them feel safe enough to show what is going on without needing to explain it perfectly. I also include parents or caregivers when that helps everyone understand what support looks like and what the child may need around them.

What the first sessions look like

The first sessions are about getting to know the child, hearing from caregivers, and understanding what has been going on at home, school, or elsewhere. Children do not need to know exactly how to explain everything before we begin.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation. I reply as soon as I can, usually within 1-2 business days.

I listen carefully for what children show before they can put it into words.

Questions people ask

How do I know if my child needs therapy?

If you are seeing changes that worry you or feel hard to manage, that is enough reason to ask. We can talk through what you have noticed and what support might make sense.

Do I have to stay in the room with my child?

That depends on what is helpful for the child and the work. We can talk together about what makes sense during the first conversation.

Can you help with emotional support for kids?

Yes, I work with children around feelings, behavior, and family stress. The focus is on understanding what they need and how to support them day to day.

What if my child won't talk?

That is something I can work with. Children often communicate in more than one way, and I pay attention to more than just direct conversation.
